Hyde Park, Illinois
The new two-story 24,000 square foot addition received an award for design excellence and was built on time and under budget. The building has a pitched roof and masonry detailing complementing the existing building façade. The new addition provides ADA access to three floors of the existing building. The building design includes classrooms, kindergarten rooms, learning resource center, science room, cafeteria and kitchen. Ray Elementary School is cited as one of the best examples of innovative design in the Chicago Public Schools Building Program.
